Thirty-five of the state’s highly acclaimed food, wine and spirit producers headed to Auckland this October to participate in one of the largest congregations of South Australian food and drink trade to take place in New Zealand.
The Tasting South Australia trade and media event was held on 27 October 2022, with attendees having the opportunity to tantalise their tastebuds with the spectacular premium wine, food, and spirits on offer from South Australian producers.
Producers in attendance included those that are new to market as well as brands seeking to increase distribution.
Some South Australian producers also participated in a consumer event – Winetopia, the largest and most comprehensive public wine-tasting event in New Zealand which ran from 28-29 October 2022.
DOWIE DOOLE and Macro Meats are just two of the premium producers that attended the event, with one of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognised chefs and restaurateurs, Sean Connolly, and renowned wine journalist and official co-patron of the South Australian Wine Ambassadors Club, Tony Love, also flying the flag for South Australia.
Tasting South Australia was delivered in partnership with the Department for Trade and Investment, Austrade, and Lemongrass Productions and the push into New Zealand forms part of the South Australian Government’s Wine Export Recovery and Expansion program.
